Dinner last night was so amazing that I had to blog about it!  Pastele Stew is one of my most favorite things in the world.  The pork and sweet peppers, the cilantro and olives.  It all just comes to together so wonderfully.

A little back story:  Because of the pineapple plantation fields that Hawaii used to have, people from many different ethnic backgrounds were brought in from different countries to work the pineapple fields.  As a result many people in Hawaii are of very mixed decent.  I was born and raised in Hawaii and my ethnic makeup include Hawaiian, Filipino, Portuguese, French, Puerto Rican and Chinese.  I was raised eating foods from all of those ethnic groups and I love every single one of them.  This particular dish is a Puerto Rican staple and if you like to try new things, this is a must.
