I started my Invisalign journey about 2 months ago.  Today was the day I got my attachments and elastics to help get things moving a little quicker.

Iʻve struggled with negative self image for a long time and my crooked teeth and class 3 underbite were a huge part of that.  Iʻve always wanted to “fix” my teeth, but 1.  Never really had the opportunity, as the severity of my case would not benefit from traditional braces.  Every specialist I saw growing up told my mother and I that jaw surgery was the only option.  No thanks!  and 2. The cost.

Well, fast forward 20 years and with the new technology available there is an option that isnʻt invasive jaw surgery (Yay!).  Invisalign. Again, I went back and forth about it, mainly due to cost.  Itʻs not cheap and as a single mom on a single income, budgeting for it would be difficult.  Luckily, I had perfect timing and when I actually showed a little bit of interest with my orthodontist she mentioned that now would be the time.  There was a zero down pay monthly plan and my Medical flex supplement was an accepted form of payment.  Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Anyhow, long story short.  I was finally able to start my Invisalign journey and I am so glad I did.  Itʻs only been about 2 and a half  months, but I am already feeling a difference in my bite and seeing a slight difference in the position of my teeth.  WARNING:  Itʻs painful.  I won’t lie.  Probably the worst tooth pain Iʻve felt in a long time, but I try to convince myself that itʻs pain now, but itʻs perfect teeth later and this is something Iʻve wanted since I was a young girl.  It will all be worth it in the end.
